Pretty Neat Gallery is now open!

We’re opening our doors to the public for the very first time — and just in time for Brighton’s Artist Open Houses!

Pretty Neat Gallery is proud to host 10 incredible local artists and makers for a vibrant celebration of creativity, reuse, and community. Expect everything from bold original art to stunning ceramics, upcycled works of wonder, and photography that sees the world a little differently.

We open to the public on Saturday 3rd May at 10.00am until 5.30pm and are open 7 days a week until the end of the Artists Open Houses Festival after the last weekend in May.

You’ll also get a sneak peek at our creative workshops, regular clubs, and events for all ages — and maybe even a treat or two!

Artists Open Houses

During the AOH exhibition, we will showcase a diverse collection of work, featuring photography, paintings, drawings, mixed media, collage, embroidery and textiles, sculpture, ceramics, handprints, and art created from beach finds and recycled materials. The collection also includes handmade homewares, jewellery and accessories, offering a range of unique, locally crafted pieces. Special weekend demos, mini-tasters of classes to come.

We are part of Kemptown Artists Trail and also the sponsor of the Children’s Trail.  Sammy the Seal will be joining in the fun, and waiting to be found by visiting children.

Victory in Europe (VE) Day – 80th Anniversary

We’re proud to be joining in the commemorations and celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.

On Monday 5th and Thursday 8th May, we’ll be hosting a series of free mini activities open to all visitors. These drop-in sessions invite people to reflect, connect, and create — honouring the freedom that VE Day represents. Everyone is welcome to take part and leave with something handmade, heartfelt, and hopeful.

Activities will include:

  • Make Your Own Mini-Bunting – add your voice to a colourful collective display
  • Postcards from the Past – write a message of remembrance or hope
  • Paper Poppies for Peace – symbolising reflection and unity
  • ‘Zentangle’ Peace Doves and Victory Hands – mindful art for all ages
  • ‘Make Do and Mend’ Textile Tasters – celebrating creativity and resilience through fabric

We’re excited to launch an inspiring new programme of creative classes and clubs for all ages at Pretty Neat Gallery & Studio. Whether you’re a complete beginner or ready to explore something new, our friendly sessions offer hands-on learning in a relaxed and welcoming space.
