Brighton Marina is exceeding their Christmas offering this year to give parents and children an experience they will never forget.

Every Christmas holiday, Brighton Marina offers an exciting and free interactive experience for families. This year, in association with Artpod, Brighton’s leading visual arts company, Brighton Marina will be taking families on an adventure to Santa City, using the in-house Antler Airways!

Between 17 – 20 December, children and families will have the opportunity to experience something totally unique. The former Franco Manca’s restaurant on The Boardwalk at the Marina, will be transformed into a free, interactive Christmas Extravaganza where children and families will start in Brighton but end up at Santa’s House.

Children will enter the start of the journey and go straight to Passport control where they meet cabin crew, receive      their passport and board the exclusive Antler Airways plane. Participants will wing walk into the cockpit and are greeted by Captain Elfwardo Baublious. The flights destination is Santa City and is powered by jingle bells and Christmas songs.

From then on, this spectacular journey takes them to six other destinations in this fantasy world, with stops at Gingerbread Inn, where they collect their candy cane room key, Elves’ Tavern, where they are served a non-alcoholic mulled wine and Ribbon Alley where they must find all the hiding Elves. They will then continue to the Elves workshop and finally to the Christmas hoopla where participants have all the clues to enable them to find the address of Santa’s grotto!

Brighton Marina’s Marketing Manager Sophie Chandler said, “We are delighted to be working with Artpod again who are so creative in their installations. Every year our grottos are a huge success, and we expect this year to be no exception. Imagine the look on the children’s faces when they learn they can wing walk into the plane’s cockpit.”

Sophie continued, “What makes our grottos so distinctive is that we offer numerous immersive experiences, and this year there will be 7. Throughout, families are tasked with solving riddles, playing games and undertaking interactive challenges. This is all interspersed with performers with different themes in each rooms, which makes it so believable and enjoyable.”

Sharon Mee, Director of Artpod said, “We always create the Christmas Grotto for Brighton Marina with children and their families or carer’s experience in mind. This year’s idea came from the desire to amalgamate all the best bits from successes of previous grottos we created between 2019-2021. This year, we want to give participants the feeling that they are travelling on a journey to find Father Christmas rather than being already there. Participants will board Antler Airways and everything from there on involves families and children working together to find Santa’s house”.

One visiting family who experienced last year’s grotto said,“We recently moved from the USA and it’s better than most things we ever saw out there. Kudos to you all ❤️”
