Kasper’s Puppet Theatre Debut part of Brighton Fringe 2013

20th – 31st May 2013

Kasper's Puppet Theatre ill be taking residence at Brighton Marina from 20th May until 31st May as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival.The puppet shows will be in the Theatre Tent located in Marina Square. Free parking is available to all customers in the MSCP. All seats admissions are £5.99.Kasper is a puppet fairytale show for children in the Bavarian tradition enjoyable for all the family. Join Kasper takes his audience on a journey through the enchanted forest in a race to save the King's dog from the clutches of the evil Robber!The puppet Kasper has a long history originating in Germany, he was first seen in Munich in 1858, similar to Punch and Judy. In 1920 Max Jacob created the form of Kasper which is most commonly performed today known as the Hohnsteiner style in which Kasper is a friendly character involved in traditional Bavarian fairytales. Performed by Benjamin Hasker, Kasper's Puppet Theatre is believed to be the only Kasper Show in Britain, using original hand carved Hohnsteiner puppets and translating popular stories presented for today’s young audience.Show times are 16.30 Monday 20th – Friday 24th May. From Saturday 25th May onwards, in connection with the school holidays, show times are 11.00 and 14.00 daily. Brightona Charity Riders return with the Brighton Auto Jumble Sunday 26th May at Brighton Marina. You can expect, a fun packed day of amazing motorcycles, live music and trade stalls! The event kicks off at 08.30 on Level 9 of the MSCP. When it comes to the bikes there are many categories including Best Bike in Show, Best Custom Bike, to name a few. There is a £2 admission donation with 100% of the proceeds going to the Sussex Heart Charity based in Brighton. All money raised at this event will purchase essential medical equipment for the cardiac department at Brighton’s Royal Sussex County Hospital.Music is a vital part of Brightona and many bands perform at each event, so be sure to bring your dancing shoes plus you treat yourself or a loved one to something from one of the many stalls offering leather wear, bike memorabilia, plus much more to fill your shopping bags. This auto-fuelled event offer a great day out alongside Brighton Marina’s great entertainment facilities, s shops, bars and restaurants and spectacular sea views

Streetfunk Dance Day

Get your dancing shoes on…Streetfunk, Brighton and Hove's leading hip hop dance school, is descending on Brighton Marina for a day of Urban Dance, featuring streetdance and breakdance displays, free taster workshops, youth group performances, prize tombolas and freestyle dance opportunities. Dance day will take place in Marina Square 11.00am – 5.00pm and will feature Stereoshok and BN1 - South Coast Streetdance champions who are in a bid to get local support to raise the funds needed to get them to the World Street Dance Championships in Glasgow this August for which both groups have qualified – well done to two superb Brighton crews. This will be a fun-filled, action-packed day for the whole family. Free parking is available to all customers in the MSCP so get your dancing shoes on and get in on the action of sit back, relax and enjoy at one of the many great bars restaurants and cafes available at Brighton Marina.
